Dr. David Burnham is a registered dental specialist in Prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is one of 9 recognized specialties within dentistry. Its special focus is replacing or repairing badly broken down or missing teeth using crowns, bridges, implants, veneers, partial and complete dentures. Prosthodontists are also trained in treating maxillofacial defects, snoring and sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, and trauma. Dr. Burnham achieved the specialist designation by completing a rigorous 3 year residency program, multiple examinations, and countless hours of didactic, research, teaching, and laboratory experience, in addition to the 4 years of dental school required to be a general dentist. A prosthodontist is often considered the quarter-back of a treatment plan, and offers insight into long lasting and beautiful restorations.
